What I've learnt (23)

The past 22 tasks have been a long and interesting learning experience. I now have a better idea of what the internet is/can be used for. I now realise the possible applications for the internet for the library and it is good that I have had exposure to modern technology.

Traditionally libraries have been single ended. That is users can only access library material. However, in today's world, such applications as Web 2.0 allows users to more efficiently access the materials they require with ease, as computers now not only connect users to what they need, but also give them the ability to have an input as well.

How to use MSN Messenger to improve library operations

MSN Messenger is a program used for real time messaging. It is a free application that is run through the internet. Students, teachers and those external to VU are able to contact library staff though this facility. This is time saving as messages are instant unlike emails.
